During a spontaneous visit of some friends a few weeks ago, I got the chance to also join a quick 2.5h visit to this old swimming pool. It was mentioned almost like a side note hey I have the key for a short while. Want to have a quick look and maybe you get l photo as well. Ohhhh yes!
I wish Sevn would have been there too. Maybe next time we get a chance to get into it as well.
Vor ein paar Wochen besuchte ich ein paar Freunde in Görlitz und Danilo fragte mich spontan: "Hey, können eventuell den Schlüssel für kurze Zeit bekommen. Möchtest du schnell einen Blick darauf werfen und vielleicht auch ein Foto machen?" So bekam ich die fast einmalige Gelegenheit, einem kurzen 2,5-stündigen Blick auf das alte Schwimmbad zu werfen. Ohhhh ja! Cool wär natürlich gewesen mit Sven da drin zu fotografieren.

Here you see a view from the top floor looking down to the former pool. I used just a few lights in a quick run around all the floors. TikTok Zack Zack ... time is ticking hurry up! Special here are the handrails ornaments that I used to cast some shadows on the wall adjacent. Then some water into the dry pool and be done with it.
Hier seht Ihr den Blick von der obersten Etage auf den leeren Pool. Nur schnell paar Lichter und dann schnell durch alle Stockwerke gelaufen. TickTock, Zack Zack, Zeit läuft. Besonders cool fand ich hier, die Schatten die ich von den Ornamenten im Geländer, auf die angrenzende Wand warf. Noch bisschen Wasser in den Pool, dann sollte es reichen.
Level Down
We worked our way from the top floor down. To get the entire scene into the frame I used my 12mm Laowa F2.8. It has very little distortion so its pretty good and almost fisheye-like.
Wir arbeiteten uns von der obersten Etage nach unten vor. Um die gesamte Szene ins Bild zu bekommen, habe ich mein 12 mm Laowa F2.8 verwendet. Das Ding hat sehr wenig Verzerrung, ist ziemlich gut und so fast wie'n Fischauge.
There are two swimming pools. One is more the cool down pool after a sauna and the other one is actually a full size. I just jumped in and waved the lights. Six seconds exposure time later done and chop chop back out.
Es gibt tatsächlich zwei Schwimmbäder. Das eine ist eher das Abkühlbecken nach dem Saunagang und das andere ist eigentlich ein großes Becken. & Sekunden später gings wieder ab nach Hause.
Setup and Settings
Since we had to kind of run here, it had to go fast, we did not have any particular concepts or composition in mind we concentrated on basic lighting. So It was pretty much me running around quickly with white, blue, and some orange shining into the corners and casting some shadows. F-Stop as high as it gets and Light as bright as it gets.
Da wir hier irgendwie rennen mussten, weil es ja schnell gehen musste, wir hatten keine Vorbereitungszeit, Konzepte oder Kompositionen im Kopf, konzentrierten wir uns einfach einfachste Einflechtung. So bin ich einfach schnell mit Weiß, Blau und etwas Orange rumgelaufen und in die Ecken geleuchtet und ein paar Schatten warfen. Blende so hoch wie es nur geht und Licht so hell wie es nur geht.

This is such an amazing location. It's so hard to imagine why it's not in use today. If I had the cash I would totally invest.
Coole Hütte. Unglaublich, warum es heute nicht verwendet wird. Wenn ich das Geld hätte, würde ich voll und ganz investieren.

Ground floor view. Super easy just running around with the lights, not real calligraphy.
Blick auf das Erdgeschoss. Super einfach, einfach mit den Lichtern herumzulaufen, keine echte Kalligraphie.
