Sometimes it is easy makes things more complicated than they are. When I was taken a look a folder of photos for my last sunrises post, I found some photos I have taken very early, it was almost night yet... and I discarded them because they lacked color. Some days later, I was going through that folder again, to make a black and white photo post, I looked at them again, but I discarded them because I like clouds with more shape and texture for that kind of work. The thing is that I was still "obsessed" with these photos without knowing very well why and today I realized ... that lack of color beyond the "night blue" is what makes them interesting by themselves, so I have decided to work on and post them.
A veces es fácil complicarse la vida. Cuando estaba revisando una carpeta de fotos para mi último post de amaneceres, encontré unas fotos disparadas muy temprano, era casi de noche... y las descarté porque les faltaba colorido. Varios días después, andaba revisando esa carpeta otra vez, para hacer un post de fotos en blanco y negro, voví a fijarme en ellas, pero las descarté porqué me gustan las nubes con mas relieve para ese tipo de fotografía. La cosa es que seguía "obsesionado" con estas fotos sin saber muy bien porqué y hoy caí en la cuenta... esa falta de colorido más allá del azul nocturno es lo que las hace intersantes de por sí, así que me he dispuesto a trabajar en ellas y publicarlas.
As I have said in other posts, these photos are taken with my "smartphone", which has its limitations. Due to the low levels of luminosity, these photos came out with a lot of noise and the shadowed areas were quite plastered. Also, in that conditions the colors come out quite colorless, sorry to be redundant. So this time, the first thing I have had to do is clean up as much noise as possible. About shadows, little could be done, so I moved on to bring up the color. In this case it has been quite easy, because normally, when increasing the saturation, it is usually necessary to re-balance all the colors of the photo, but these pictures are practically monochromatic. To finish, I have used the "Curves" tool, also in Photoshop, to give a bit of contrast and drama to the final result.

Como he mencionado en otros post, estas fotos están tomadas con mi "smartphone", lo cual tiene sus limitaciones. Debido a la poca luz, las fotos salieron con bastante ruido y las zonas de sombras bastante empastadas. Además, con baja luminosidad los colores salen bastante desaturados. Así que esta vez, lo primero que he tenido que hacer es limpiar todo el ruido posible. Respecto a las sombras poco se podía hacer, así que pasé al tema del color. En este caso ha sido bastante fácil, porqué normalmente, al subir la saturación, suele hacer falta re-balancear todos los colores de la foto, pero estas fotos son prácticamente monocromáticas. Para acabar, he usado la herramienta "Curvas", también en Photoshop, para dar un poco de contraste y drama al resultado final.
