Anno domini 2019 you could just get in your car and drive somewhere, for example to Bruges. You didn't need to prove that you were 'healthy' and you didn't have to wear a mask. Those were crazy times back then. The older ones among you will certainly still remember them. But I digress.
Bruges is a very pleasant destination, even if it has the flair of Disneyland in places. We only met very friendly people there. Stress and hectic are a foreign word there. And there is very good beer everywhere. Even in the smallest pub, you are overwhelmed by the selection of several hundred varieties.
Anno domini 2019 konnte man sich einfach ins Auto setzen und irgendwo hinfahren, zum Beispiel nach Brügge. Man brauchte keinen Nachweis, das man "gesund" ist und man musste auch nicht mit einer Maske rumlaufen. Verrückte Zeiten waren das damals. Die Älteren unter euch werden sich sicher noch daran erinnern. Aber ich schweife ab.
Brügge ist ein sehr angenehmes Reiseziel, auch wenn es an einigen Stellen das Flair von Disneyland hat. Uns sind dort nur sehr freundliche Menschen begegnet. Stress und Hektik sind dort ein Fremdwort. Und überall gibt es sehr gutes Bier. Selbst in der kleinsten Kneipe ist man mit der Auswahl aus mehreren hundert Sorten überfordert.

If you are out and about at night with your camera, you will find worthwhile motifs at every turn. Many buildings and bridges are illuminated. At night there are almost no cars and only a few people on the road. So you can take pictures in peace without being disturbed.
Wenn man nachts mit der Kamera unterwegs ist findet man an jeder Ecke lohnende Motive. Viele Gebäude und Brücken sind beleuchtet. Nachts sind so gut wie keine Autos und nur wenige Menschen unterwegs. Man kann also in Ruhe fotografieren ohne gestört zu werden.

In the last picture, a car and some bicycles drove through the picture. I then took several more pictures without light traces of the vehicles. In the end, however, I liked this picture best.
Im letzten Bild sind mir dann doch ein Auto und einige Fahrräder durchs Bild gefahren. Ich hab dann noch mehrere Aufnahmen ohne Lichtspuren der Fahrzeuge gemacht. Letztendlich hat mir dieses Bild dann aber am Besten gefallen.
