Today was the final of the ice hockey world championship tournament in Tampere, Finland. It was a nice and warm evening and I took some street shots in the city.
I dropped by the regular venue of the local go club. The only other club member present was someone who had not showed up for a decade. What a coincidence!
We played one game (a long one) after which I went out to shoots some photos.
Two out of three main subjects are holding a smartphone in their hand so far.
Black is a popular color.
Flag lady entering what looks like pub. The game will be on soon. Smart move to find a seat before the crowds take over the place.
New light rail
This is where you can change from one line to another.
Police presence has been heavier than usual in the last two weeks. I even saw an armored paddy wagon a few days ago. Too bad it went past too quickly for me to whip out my phone and a take a picture of it.
I tried to drive to Hotel Rosendahl by Lake Pyhäjärvi yesterday. I couldn't because the police had blocked both of the roads leading down to it from the esker. When I was stopped they told me all the teams were staying at the hotel. I guess it's understandable to keep the public away from the place as it would otherwise be full of fans asking for autographs.
So cute.
Oh by the way, Finland won the championship! Finland-Canada 4-3.
