Hi there!
This is the second day of my multi-day hike, this time following the borderline between Czechia and Slovakia back in May 2020, when flowers were still in blossom and meadows were intensively greenish. Want to find out what Portáš is, or just to reminisce a bit? Keep on reading then ;-)
If you have missed the first day of the trek by any chance, you can read it in my previous post here.
Flora
What a gorgeous and protected little flower, the Orchid❤️
Looks like a castle?
No clue what it is but its dry fruits look awesome!
Spruce cone.
Green kingdom of burdocks.
Fauna
Met these beautiful horses! They were just being fed.
A kitty guarding the closed Portáš chalet.
What a sleepy doggie. No signs of any movement :-D
Things getting dangerous now! A blindworm trying to escape/attack(?).
Unwanted companion. Attached to me on the meadow.
Landscape
View from saddle Pod Kohútkou, closed to Portáš - mountain hotel.
Nice meadows around there! Just you and ticks :-D
Kohútka mountain (913m) with a chalet on the left.
View from Kohútka.
View from the ridge, Slovak landscape!
Taken somewhere in the wilderness.
Structures
Wooden cross at Kohútka.
Portáš. Restaurant, hotel, chalet. They are supposed to have the Portáš beer on tap. Unfortunately, closed (->covid) during my visit. Next time then.
Karolinka. Swimming not allowed, serves as water reservoir.
Malý Javorník (1019m), the highest peak of this hike. Sadly, no outlook there.
Refreshments
Having Budweiser (Budvar) beer and traditional cabbage soup at Kohůtka restaurant.
At last! Portáš, beer named after protectors of mountains of the Wallachia (Valašsko) region. Found purely by accident in Halenkov.
