I witnessed an beautiful sunrise in Kansas. Since the clocks fell back this weekend, I was up early and got out with first light.
I made a quick trip to visit family in southeast Kansas.
Big skies made for some nice color.
There were some thunderstorms starting to develop.
Kansas is in tornado alley and we were under a tornado watch one evening. The tornados went south and east of where I was staying so no danger or damage. But it was pretty incredible watching the local weather coverage. They had storm chasers on three sides of the tornado in Oklahoma providing video footage of a tornado on the ground. Flipping between the different views and repositioning to follow the storm. Pretty crazy stuff. Straight out of a movie like Twister. It was one of those moments when you realize that a movie you dismissed as sensationalized is not that far from reality 😅
