Its been a pretty winter with more snow than we have got in a few years.
Snowy pictures are always fun although lighting can be a challenge in the winter. The sun is lower in the sky, the days are shorter, and lots of overcast days.
The challenge in photograpy are a lot like the challenge of cabin fever - depression brought on by being trapped inside by the weather and lack of sun.
Cabin fever is one of the reasons we try our best to get out everyday for our daily walks.
We also take every excuse we can think of to drive into town.
I can't wait to be working in the garden and mowing the lawn instead of clearing snow and putting down sand on the ice.
The maple trees are showing signs of spring. The buds are all in place. They will start to swell as it warms up. Sugar season is close. The sap buckets, taps, and lines were being prepared before the latest cold snap and snow. Sap flows best with cold nights (20F) and warmer days (40F). We have only seen a few days above freezing and no 40Fs this February.
