When I pause for a moment to look back and see everything I’ve done with my life so far, I can’t believe it all happened exactly when it needed to happen. This perfect timing allowed me to go through my days calmly, doing what I wanted to do at that particular point in my story. I would say luck has always been on my side, although I don’t want to take away from my own effort and merit. Everything has always worked out that way for me, even during this past year, when I set out to find a job that would allow me to develop my professional career, and I found one much faster than I expected ❤️.
Cuando me detengo un momento para mirar hacia atrás y ver todo lo que hice con mi vida hasta ahora, no puedo creer que todo haya sucedido cuando necesitaba que suceda. Este timing perfecto me permitió transitar mis días con calma, haciendo lo que quería hacer en ese determinado punto de mi historia. Diría que la suerte siempre me acompañó, aunque no quiero restarle importancia a mi propio esfuerzo y mérito. Para todo fue siempre así, hasta en este último año, cuando me propuse encontrar un trabajo que me permitiera desarrollar mi carrera profesional, y lo encontré mucho más rápido de lo que pensé ❤️.
Ever since I was very young, I always enjoyed studying and everything related to academic life, strongly motivated by my mom’s support throughout my entire school journey. When I finished high school with my degree as a Chemical Technician, I knew very clearly that I wanted to dedicate myself to an exact science, and it didn’t take me long to choose the food science field. After researching my options, I found the Food Engineering program and started it in 2012 at the age of 17, graduating at 25 in 2019. I still remember how fulfilled I felt that day.
Desde que era muy chica, siempre me gustó estudiar y todo lo relacionado a la vida académica, fuertemente motivada por el apoyo de mi mamá en todo mi trayecto escolar. Cuando terminé la escuela secundaria con mis estudios de Técnica Química, tuve muy claro que quería dedicarme a alguna ciencia exacta y no me costó mucho decidirme por la rama de los alimentos. Después de investigar mis opciones, encontré la carrera Ingeniería en Alimentos y la empecé en 2012 a mis 17 años, logrando recibirme a mis 25 en el año 2019. Todavía recuerdo lo realizada que me sentí ese día.
Before finishing my studies, I had already completed an internship at a canned soup factory, a four-hour-a-day job that was required in order to obtain my Engineering degree, and another similar internship at a potato chips factory. After that, I continued with what I was supposed to do: looking for a full-time job. But in 2020, the pandemic began and changed everyone’s plans. It was during that same year of lockdown, while looking for ways to make money from home, that I discovered Hive. A few months later, with the earnings I had saved during the strict quarantine, I took advantage of the easing of restrictions in 2021 and invested my money in a series of trips that I shared here and that helped me generate even more income. This created a cycle of traveling that lasted until May 2025 — incredible! If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ve probably seen some of those adventures :)
Antes de terminar de estudiar, yo ya había hecho una pasantía en una fábrica de sopa enlatada, un trabajo de cuatro horas diarias que era necesario para obtener el título de Ingeniera, y otra pasantía similar en una fábrica de papas fritas. Después de eso, continué con lo que se supone que debería haber hecho, buscando un trabajo de más horas, pero en 2020 empezó la pandemia que nos cambió los planes a todos. Fue en ese mismo año de encierro, cuando buscando formas de hacer dinero desde casa encontré a Hive. Unos meses más tarde, con las ganancias que junté durante la pandemia estricta, aproveché la flexibilización de la cuarentena en 2021 e invertí mi dinero en una serie de viajes que compartí acá y me sirvieron para generar más ganancias. Esto generó una rueda de viajes que duró hasta mayo de 2025: ¡increíble! Si me siguen hace tiempo seguro habrán visto alguna de estas aventuras :)
During all that time spent traveling, I had an amazing experience. I explored many places, visited every province in Argentina, take a few trips to neighboring countries and I even had the opportunity to work as an engineer on a small month-and-a-half administrative project in Ushuaia, at a canned king crab factory.. Those were incredible years, but at some point I felt like I couldn’t keep setting aside my Engineering studies, and I started to worry about the lack of experience on my résumé, especially since I had already turned 30 and we all know how the job market can be when it comes to age. That made me realize I needed to invest some time in expanding my professional background, while also saving money to build my adult life. So when I returned home, I started looking for a job that would allow me to do all of that, and fortunately, my friends, I found one in exactly one month.
Durante todo ese tiempo de paseo, la pasé excelentemente bien. Recorrí un montón de lugares, visité todas las provincias de Argentina, hasta pude hacer algunas escapadas a nuestros países limítrofes y hasta tuve una oportunidad de trabajar como ingeniera en un pequeño proyecto administrativo de un mes y medio en Ushuaia, en la fábrica de centolla enlatada. Fueron unos años increíbles, pero en algún punto sentí que no podía dejar de lado mis estudios de Ingeniera y me empezó a preocupar el hecho de la poca experiencia en mi currículum, sumado a que ya había cumplido 30 años y todos sabemos como es el mercado laboral con el asunto de la edad. Esto me hizo dar cuenta de que debía invertir algo de tiempo para ampliar mi formación profesional, además de juntar algo de dinero para construir mi vida adulta. Fue por eso que cuando volví a casa, empecé a buscar un trabajo que me permitiera hacer todo eso, y afortunadamente amigos míos, en un mes exacto lo conseguí.
Everything happened really quickly with this job, considering the employment crisis we are currently facing in Argentina (in my case, having a professional degree may have helped). I started my job search on a Monday, saw this job posting on Thursday, and had the virtual interview the very next day. The following week, I had the in-person interview on Wednesday and the online psychological assessment on Friday. By the next week, I had already completed my medical exams, and in the fourth week after everything started, it was already my first day at work. This job, which is the one I currently have, is as a Quality Analyst at a cold cuts factory, so ever since then, I’ve been eating cold cuts every single day of my life 😂.
Todo se dio realmente rápido con este trabajo, considerando la crisis laboral que tenemos en Argentina actualmente (en mi caso quizás ayudó el hecho de contar con un título profesional). Empecé la búsqueda un lunes, un jueves vi este anuncio y al otro día tuve la entrevista virtual. La semana que siguió, tuve la entrevista presencial un miércoles y el viernes tuve el examen psicotécnico online. Para la siguiente semana, me hicieron los exámenes médicos y en la cuarta semana de empezado todo, ya fue mi primer día de trabajo. Este trabajo, que es el que tengo actualmente, es como Analista de Calidad en una fábrica de fiambres, así que desde entonces, como fiambre cada día de mi vida 😂.
What’s curious about all of this is that I started this job on June 23rd, 2025 — the exact same date I joined Hive, but back in 2020. So now, June 23rd has become a date of abundance and good things for me, because it marked the beginning of amazing chapters in my life. After getting this job, my routine changed quite a bit because I now spend almost 11 hours away from home, but with the salary I earn now, I’ve been saving money and finally taking care of many pending repairs in my family’s house. That also fills me with pride: being able to improve things a little and contribute to a better quality of life for everyone. And if you’re wondering about traveling, well, of course it hasn’t stopped completely — I still love the mountains, social life with fellow travelers, and all the stories that come with it, so whenever I get the chance to go a little farther away on weekends, I escape without hesitation!
Lo curioso de esto, es que empecé este trabajo el 23 de junio de 2025, la misma fecha que me uní a Hive pero en el 2020. Así que, ahora los 23 de junio son una fecha de abundancia y cosas buenas para mí, porque fueron el día de inicio de cosas geniales. Después de conseguir este trabajo, mi rutina cambió bastante porque paso casi 11 horas fuera de casa, pero con el salario que tengo ahora, estoy ahorrando y haciendo muchos arreglos pendientes en la casa de mi familia. Esto me llena de orgullo también: poder mover un poco las cosas y mejorar la calidad de vida de todos. Y si se preguntan por los viajes, bueno, por supuesto no se han detenido por completo: todavía sigo amando la montaña, la vida social con otros viajeros y las anécdotas, así que siempre que puedo pasear un poco más lejos en los fines de semana, ¡me escapo sin dudarlo!
Finding this new job represented quite a challenge for me: going from being a “free” traveler to becoming part of the “system” for the first time was something that stressed me out a little at first, but now, almost a year later, I think I handle it much better. It also motivates me to know that I’m accomplishing many things with the money I earn at the factory, so that brings me a lot of peace of mind. Encontrar este nuevo trabajo representó todo un desafío para mí: pasar de ser una viajera "libre" a ser parte del "sistema" por primera vez fue algo que al principio me estresó un poco, pero ahora casi un año después, creo que ya lo manejo mejor.
