Last year in August, our boss was looking for a new place for our head office. It took us almost half a year to move finally to our new office but it was not just in a click or so easy. Well, honestly speaking, moving or shifting is not easy whether itβs your home or office, it needs planning and strategies. For me, it was not the first time I experienced relocation of my office but yes, first time in an organization like this one where there is not much staff and complete staff at moving office is not more than 50 people.
Location and building was finalized last year and the work started as well, everything was going smooth and Boss planned to move complete office by December 2022 but due to some sudden inflation and hike in prices, the work was delayed a bit. Still I would say that in such a hard situation, my Boss didnβt stepped back and did everything to succeed in what he started.
I am not sure what was the idea behind relocation or shifting to new address until I visited and moved permanently to new office. I never visited new office when work was in progress. However, in the beginning of this year, our operation team was shifted. They were the first to start working in new office. It was not easy as they faced many technical issues, light problems, water shortage and much more. No doubt, our team worked together and worked hard to complete and resolve the issues at earliest.
Being a courier company, we know how packaging and moving things would work. We packed our important things which was just a single carton, because thanks to technology and IT innovation that we have a very good system and tools which keep all the records so no need to make files or papers. On 10th Feb, finally the complete office was shifted and we reported in new office.
It is amazing wow, what a nice and big office we have now. This is great achievement and I was feeling happy to be the part of it. Itβs a big four storey building and nice space. Our systems were working but as we all know, in the beginning we could face little bit issues like shortage of chairs, some water leakage in ACs, some door problems. Well, most of the things were all good and few of them needs to be highlighted which we did. It goes like that, step by step.
To settle things down and to get used to the place, it may take little time. For tea, we were not having any material so we asked to bring tea for the office from nearby restaurant/chai wala. We were excited at our new office. For lunch, usually I skip lunch but as I was too much happy for the new office, I went with my team and other colleagues to some nearby Dhaba.
We ordered Daal ghotala (lentils with egg) and Chana (chickpea). It was delicious with hot served Naans. We all had a good lunch together and enjoyed our time at the Dhaba.
The tea was surprisingly wonderful so we all ordered twice and had a good time there.
First day at new office was a bit busy and full of excitements. Will share further stories in upcoming posts.
