During the week, I had some sort of mini-vacation that made me realise how much I want a proper vacation. I had some business to do in another city and had to lodge in a hotel over there. Even though I was still working, I felt relieved just being away from my house.
I wasn't doing any chores or making any meals. All I did was wake up, begin work, eat, continue work and attend to other activities. I loved being served breakfast, especially for the fact that I didn't have to think up the meals myself.
My favourite thing to eat at the hotel was this fried plantain and goat meat sauce. I liked it so much that I had eaten it almost every day. I'm not always lucky to get ripe, sweet plantains like this at my own place so this deliciousness was overwhelmingly good.
I also ate some fast food restaurant meals. This one here was from a restaurant in town. Initially, it was some really good rice that's different from the regular and I enjoyed it so much until I heard the bill. It suddenly didn't taste delicious anymore because my money buds are more sensitive than my taste buds.
I can't really describe how the rice tasted because it became less memorable but I did finish it though, to get the complete money's worth. Would I try it again? Yes. Overpriced food is less annoying when it's a vacation.
I'm home currently and I have no idea what we're eating this week. I couldn't meal prep over the weekend because I was on shift and now I'm just wishing I could go on a proper vacation for a week and not have to cook.
I'm thinking we should eat out this week but that's a lot of money and I'm maxed out for the month already. Anyway, I might just buy goat meat and make the sauce on my free day, hopefully I get very sweet plantains 🥺
Exploring and going to fun places during a vacation is great, but the major perks for me are the food and room service. What are yours?
