Hello everyone. I am happy that I had the chance to spend the whole day today in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. While I was walking through the beautiful streets of this city, I came across an open market that takes place every sunny Friday and is called the Open Kitchen.
As soon as I smelled the delicious street food, I thought it could be great opportunity to create content for a #MarketFriday, creative challenge by . π
People from Ljubljana know - when it's Friday and when the weather is nice and warm, there will be good food! This is a very popular market and is traditionally held on PogaΔarjev Square.
I loved the lively spirit I felt there as I watched people casually talking and enjoying unique and authentic flavors from all over the world.
For the first time I saw real paella, a traditional Spanish dish. π
As well as the octopus burger. It had fantastic aroma that made me want to come closer.
I know about muffins and I often make them, but now I heard about cruffins and saw them also for the first time.
Pistachio cream, cheesecake... there were many different flavors of cruffins, but the price was quite high. Some were 7 and some 6 euros.
Whoever comes to Slovenia must try sausages. Different types could be bought here.
I like places where everyone finds their corner and feels great in it. For meat lovers, there was plenty of meat of all kinds.
But there was also vegan food.
Opposite the Open kitchen there were stands selling souvenirs.
And I especially liked the dried herbs for tea or spices and their aromas.
And further down there was a green open market.
You can buy a lot of fresh and healthy vegetables there, and at the end I saw something for the first time again - yellow carrots. π
And one more thing... Colorful burgers. π
The whole day was as colorful as the burgers, filled with joy, delicious food, first times and positive vibes. π
Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine.
Greetings!
Jelena
