On our way home from Yarraville, we decided to check out the place that some people are speaking about. It's very close and simillar to Yarravillein regard to its industrial history. While not as polluted as Yarraville, Spotswood is Newport's immediate neighbor and has always had large industries. One such area is the Australia Glass manufacturer still operating, however; the downside of the operation is that a lot of land was freed up, which was then used to develop the place called "Grazeland".
It's truly a culinary smorgasbord. What a great experience. You're about to enter a world that's different from anywhere you can imagine with just 4 dollars of entrance fee. The event operates every weekend and features culinary delights from every corner of the globe, including dishes from Europe, Asia, Africa and beyond. Many nations presented almost food truck-like setups with shipping containers and covered awnings to create a beautiful covered area. The famous Westgate bridge behind the stage is a quiet breathtaking view for what was once a glass bottle storage area. Now it's very much entertainment experiences fit for ages groups. The locals have done a great job converting a wasteland into a "grazeland"
We arrived around 1pm, just in time for the opening. It was hot on that day but still crowded. I was wondering how many people would be here later when the weather got cooler. It was difficult to decide what to eat as I walked around in the heaven of foods, lol. There are a variety options from alcohol, donut, sweet, popcorn, ice- cream, cheesecake on stick and so much more that I can't name them all :)
People from all walks of life come to enjoy the food, music and atmosphere of this popular spot. From elderly people, adults, and children alike, all are drawn in by the inviting charm of this place. This is a friendly family area that everyone can always be sure to have a good time. Plus, there is a big TV with Melbourne beloved sport playing as well as DJ and live band.
From vibrant colors, to unique artwork, to traditional designs, these food trucks are not only mouthwatering but visually stunning as well. They are decorated in a way that reflects the culture of each nation. It's truly a unique cultural experience to explore the diverse flavors of food from around the world without leaving the country :)
We got a cheesecake on a stick and it was incredibly delicious 😝 Who loves cheesecake must try :)
At Grazeland, you can also buy gift cards for your friends and family. I'm sure it would be a special treat or a thoughtful present for those you love :)
