Hi friends,
I have finally found the necessary calm to be able to write a few words about my cat Pelota, who sadly disappeared about two months ago and share with you her story of a year and a half of life.
A beautiful kitty in the garden.
This great friendship I made with Pelota started when I heard some kitty meowing one Sunday morning and I went to an area of the garden where I had some boxes of porexpan to make the lettuce seedlings.
At that moment I realized that it was one of Catalina's offspring, a stray cat that I had been taming with care and food for the last 3 years.
With the intention that there was no rejection of her mother towards the kitten, I avoided touching her and after a few minutes her mother appeared and I left them in their free will, so Catalina took her away from there to a small hut that we have where we keep the firewood for the winter and for several weeks we had no news of Pelota.
Weaning and first steps towards domestication
After about a month, and being aware during this time that Pelota continued to hide in the woodshed, we took food to the woodshed (sweet ham, chicken skin, fish skin, fish or chicken broth from our meals, milk, etc).
However, the day came when his mother had no more milk and the small rations that we took to the woodshed were not enough for him and suddenly Pelota was leaving his den guided by his mother back to the garden of our almost and there little by little in exchange for food he began to let himself be seen and touched.
Pelota grew up
With the passing of the months and thanks to her three daily rations of cat food, Pelota grew day by day accompanied by her mother.
As a proof of how mother and daughter got along wonderfully, you can see the size of Pelota and how her mother still took care of her and pampered her with caresses and licks.
An excellent hunter.
Unlike her mother, whom I have never seen hunt anything, Pelota was an excellent hunter. Maybe my games with her were very influential in which, with the help of a stick and a string, I made her run and jump so that she would gain agility.
As a sample of this ability I can show you a capture of a video where Pelota carries in her mouth a small bird that she had previously hunted.
The funniest Pelota.
As a result of my love for photography and the various photographic challenges that have arisen during these months, I have some funny Pelota photos.
The first one I share in this section is a photo taken with a fisheye lens installed on my smartphone in which Pelota instead of looking like a cat looks like a Lemur.
The second funny photo I share with you is a photo a week before his disappearance where with his tender eyes he places one of his paws in a very striking and at the same time funny way.
Predicting her departure
As if there was a sixth sense in me two days before her disappearance, my mother asked me to take some pictures of her with the cat on her lap.
Additionally, once Pelota was away from us, she went to one of the corners where she used to lie down and I took this last photo of her that I will always keep for my memory and that I in turn submit to the #pobphotocontest organized by .

I hope you liked this tribute to Pelota and I hope she likes it wherever she is.
Best regards.
