Greetings to all, fellow pet lovers. It is a pleasure for me to be here in the community, to update you a little on how my pets have been doing.
There is good news and bad news, let's start with the bad news. It turns out that I recently adopted 3 newborn kittens (just a few days old) whose mother died. Unfortunately they couldn't stand to be without their mother and all 3 passed away as well....
I thought I would be able to save them because I did everything. I gave them a special milk I bought for them, kept them warm, massaged their tummies so they could relieve themselves.
They were fat and cute, active and had even opened their eyes, but one day all 3 of them woke up dead, without any explanation. I don't understand what happened. A friend of hive told me that it could be a disease they already had, I don't know. The point is that they are gone, but I have a clear conscience that we did what we could....
But well, enough of the bad news. Let's go with the good news, let's start with Bucky.
Saludos a todos, amigos amantes de las mascotas. Para mi es un placer esta acá en la comunidad, para actualizarlos un poco sobre cómo han estado mis mascotas.
Hay buenas y malas noticias, comencemos por las malas. Resulta que hace poco había adoptado a 3 gatitos recién nacidos (pocos días de haber nacido) cuya madre murió. Lamentablemente no soportaron estar sin su mamá y fallecieron los 3 también...
Pensé que lograría salvarlos pues hacía de todo. Les daba una leche especial que les compré, los mantenía calientes, les masajeba la panzita para que hicieran necesidades.
Estaban gorditos y bonitos, activos e incluso ya habían abierto los ojos, sin embargo un día amanecieron los 3 muertos, sin ninguna explicación. No entiendo qué pasó. Un amigo de hive me comentó que podría ser una enfermedad que ya traían, no lo sé. El punto es que ya no estan, pero quedo con la conciencia tranquila de que se hizo lo que se pudo...
Pero bueno, basta de malas noticias. Vamos con las buenas, comencemos con Bucky.
Bucky is another stray kitten I adopted. I thought about giving him up for adoption to another home, but in the end I decided to keep him and here he is, growing chubby and cute.
During the time he has been with me he has adopted certain habits that T'challa, for example, did not have.
He has the habit of invading areas where he shouldn't be, such as my flip-flops. Because of this I have accidentally stepped on him on more than one occasion.
Bucky es otro gatito callejero que adopté. Pensé en darlo en adopción a otra casa, pero al final decidí conservarlo y aquí está, creciendo gordito y bonito.
Durante el tiempo que ha estado conmigo ha adoptado ciertas costumbres que T'challa, por ejemplo no tenía.
Tiene la costumbre de invadir áreas en las que no deberia estar, como por ejemplo mis chanclas. Por esto he llehado a pisarlo, accidentalmente, en mas de una ocasión.
Also, because he is so mischievous, he has caused me some accidents when recording my craft videos.
He often climbs on the table while I'm working, looking for affection, attention or just curious about what I'm doing.
He is small so he is very naughty. On the other hand, T'challa is a little better about Bucky's behavior.
También, por ser tan travieso, me ha causado ciertos accidentes a la hora de grabar mis videos de manualidades.
Suele subirse a la mesa mientras estoy trabajandl, en busca de cariño, atención o simplemente siente curiosidad por lo que estoy haciendo.
Está pequeño así que es muy travieso. Por otro lado, T'challa está un poco mejor con respecto al comportamiento de Bucky.
Since the last time I told you about T'challa, she had moved away from everything with Bucky's presence in the house, but she is now calmer, to the point that she walks around the house calmly; however, there is a problem.
You see, I had only one feeder, for T'challa, but since Bucky arrived she doesn't want to use it; on the other hand, Bucky is too small for that feeder so I have had to improvise feeders with bottle lids so they can both eat peacefully.
Still, I have to be careful because they can't eat together. If T'challa sees Bucky when he's eating, he attacks him and they start fighting. So they both have to eat in separate rooms. They're little brothers, but even little brothers fight.
Desde la última vez que les comenté sobre T'challa, ella se había alejado de todo con la presencia de Bucky en la casa, pero ya está mas tranquila, al punto de que anda tranquila por la casa; sin embargo, hay un problema.
Verán, yo tenía un solo comedero, para T'challa, pero desde que llegó Bucky ella no quiere usarlo; por otro lado, Bucky es muy pequeño para ese comedero así que he tenido que improvisar comederos con tapas de envases para que los dos puedan xomer tranquilos.
Aún así, tengo que tener cuidado porque no pueden comer juntos. Si T'challa ve a Bucky cuando está comiendo, lo ataca y empiezan a pelear. Así que ambos tienen que comer en habitaciones distintas. Son hermanitos, pero hasta los hermanitos pelean.
Now I will tell you about something I am quite excited about. You may know that I brought home my chickens, which were in someone else's house.
Well, since they have been here I have been collecting as many eggs as I can, waiting for one of the hens to become broody, or in the process of hatching eggs.
Ahora les hablaré de algo por lo que estoy bastante emocionado. Quizás sepan que traje a casa a mis gallinas, las cuales estabab en una casa ajena.
Pues bien, desde que estan aquí he estado recolectando todos los huevos que he podido, esperando a que una de las gallinas se vuelva clueca, o en proceso para empollar a los huevos.
But before I tell you that, take a look at my hens. They are all getting fat and very strong.
I have been feeding them quite balanced food, varying their diet not only with corn, but also with other vegetables such as zucchini, lettuce, rice, various legumes and corn itself.
Pero antes de comentarles eso, vean a mis gallinas. Estan todas engordando y muy fuertes.
Les he estado dando alimentos bastante balanceados, variando su alimentación no solo con maiz, sino también con otros vegetales como calabacín, lechugas, arroz, legumbres diversas y el mismo maíz.
Thanks to this balanced feeding, at least 3 hens have been laying eggs, which is very good.
I've been saving all these eggs and it's great, because I'm expecting a variety of chicks to hatch now that one of the hens has started hatching.
Gracias a esta alimentación balanceada, al menos 3 gallinas han estado poniendo huevos, lo cual es muy bueno.
Todos estos huevos los he guardado y es genial, porque espero que nazcan pollitos variados ahora que una de las gallinas ha comenzado a empollarlos.
Just two days ago I was surprised to find that she was already broody. I simply did not see the hen in the whole yard so I started looking for her and was surprised to see her there.
She started hatching just two eggs, because the other eggs that the hens were laying she kept so they wouldn't get damaged. So as soon as the hen sat on those eggs, I put all the other eggs I had saved underneath her.
Hace apenas dos dias me llevé la sorpresa de que ya estaba clueca. Simplemente no veía a la gallina en todo el patio así que empecé a buscarla y me sorprendió verla allí.
Comenzó empollando apenas dos huevos, porque los otros huevos que opnian las gallinas los guardaba para que no los dañaran. Asi que tan pronto la gallina se sentó encima de esos huevitos, le coloqué debajo todos los otros huevos que había guardado.
This hen is very wild, so she pecked me several times while I was keeping the other eggs under her care; however, after I left all the eggs, I left her alone to cover them all and start the process.
In total the hen is hatching 11 eggs that in 21 days will become chicks, or at least I hope so, because they don't always hatch all of them, but I am hopeful that they will.
Esta gallina es muy salvaje, asi que me dio varios picotazos mientras guardaba los otros huevitos debajo de su cuidado; sin embargo, después que dejé todos los huevos, la dejé tranquila para que los cubriera todos y comenzara el proceso.
En total la gallina está empollando 11 huevitos que en 21 días se convertiran en pollitos, o al menos eso espero, porque no siempre nacen todos, pero tengo esperanzas de que sí.
