Chickens are very noble animals, just like turkeys or sheep. While they are independent animals, they also need our care because if left alone, they can be attacked by hawks, cats or dogs.
I don't have chickens at home, but for some time now I have been keeping chickens with a friend. Almost all of them are mine and only one of them is hers, but all the hens are in her house and between the two of us we take care of them.
