Freelance cat
You heard it right. That's how I call the cat that comes into the house regularly. That term was taught by my aunt who also has a freelance cat. But what is a freelance cat?
A freelance cat is a cat that's not yours but visit your house daily, catch some mice, and then goes back to its house when it feels well-fed and happy. They are also not a stray cat because they have owner and a house.
My family used to have plenty cats but they died due to old age. Since my mom is back working, she decided not to adopt any cat but rather welcoming freelance cats.
Before I was home. My cousin is the one who takes care of this freelance cat. I also have one back in my apartment who would come in front of my doorstep to get its daily food.
This freelance cat comes into the house several times in a day. In the morning, afternoon, and at night. Since the last three months, I was in charge of feeding the cat. This cat comes from a humble house. I saw it being fed with leftovers which is quite sad. But thankfully, she visited my house often and I hope the food that I provide is enough to give her nutrients and sustain her life longer.
I bought the food from a convenient store after I visited a coffee shop. They have some great selections and even treats. I used to buy the cat food called ME-0 but I noticed that cat food only lasted for 2 weeks. So I needed something bigger. And though whiskas is a good brand, I think it's a bit too expensive for a cat that's not mine.
So, I decided to get Cat Choize. The box contains benefit information too such as rich in omega 3 and vitamin D that will help the cat has shiny fur and also good bones health. It is also 500gr which I hope will last a month. I can't review the taste of course since I am not a cat. But, when I gave it to the cat, she looks happy and satisfied. She also ate a lot. The smell is subtle compared to Me-O and that's the only thing that I can say about that cat food.
In my neighborhood, there are many freelance cats. But only that cat is brave enough to enter the house. Unlike stray cat, freelance cats are not that hostile. They are nice to people who feed them. However, since I don't know how they are groomed and their health, I generally don't touch them. But if they get closer to me, which they often do, I don't mind it.
I have asked my mom to tell the neighbor that I wanted that cat.Sadly, my mom said the owner loves it too. Besides, my mom also tell me that she won't have the time to clean the poo and the dirt. But at some point after I am settled, I want to adopt a cat again.
