Pets are one of the blessings that we have in our life. In times of pain, happiness, or sadness, they are always there for you, they follow you wherever you go, stay beside you, and don't leave you.
I've grown up with a fondness for animals. Whether dogs, cats, birds, chickens, goats, cows, pigs, rabbits and more. Animals hold a special place in my heart because like humans they strive to live they fight to survive, they also need someone to care for them.
In the past, we wanted a pet but hesitated due to fears that might bite or harm us. Until the day full of happiness and blessings comes into our life.
It was the day of Christmas when my mother and I were talking to each other outside of our aunt's house. A few minutes later we heard the sound of an animal and got curious so we looked at each side of the house and guessed we'd found a cute cat.
It was a little female cat, we didn't know to whom that cat owned, so we asked our neighbors if it was their cat but they said no. Since no one claimed her we decided to take her home and adopt her. We named her "Chuchay" We fed her and sheltered her. She was so kind and obedient.
Years passed and she gave birth to kittens. We're so happy because she's finally had companions to play with. She will never be alone.
Her cats are so naughty and energetic which makes us happy. As they grew up, we noticed that her kittens had their unique personality which made us surprised. Which sometimes brought annoyance, but mostly happiness.
Let me tell you their personalities
First, There's Jack, the oldest of them all, who is so picky he has only one type of fish that he always eats this fish called "Sardine fish" and he won't eat anything else.
This fish is his favorite whenever we run out of that fish we immediately go to the market only to buy fish because if you don't he won't stop pestering you, following you wherever you are around until he bites you if you don't give him a fish that he likes.
When he drinks water he smells it first to ensure that it hasn't been touched by other animals. If so, he will pester you until you change it. He's quite a picky cat.
A few days ago, my aunt and uncle bought him a shelter so that he has a place to sleep and won't sleep on the floor anymore.
Then there's "Wei Wei" who loves sleeping on the pillows if someone else uses a pillow he'll gently nip at their ears until they move and turn around so he can able to sleep. Also when there is leftover food on our table he always guards it. He is like our food security whenever there is food on our table he's always there. He doesn't eat it, instead he just watches over it.
Next is "Moi Moi" who loves to eat junk foods and raw vegetables like squash, mushrooms, carrots, tomatoes, corn, and more. Every time my mother bought junk food he rushed over and asked for a share. Also when my mother was cooking in the kitchen he saw vegetables, especially squash which is his favorite. He asked for some and ate it on the floor.
So whenever my mother bought a squash she always watched over it or kept it because, in just a blink of an eye, you're squash is gone. It was quite expensive though.
Finally, there's Pak and Wawa who love to watch cartoons and YouTube videos.
Pak enjoys making videos and often tries to swipe at the screen, thinking he can grab some food.
Whenever my mother watches Mukbang he's always there. He always stays in my mother's stomach until he sleeps.
He also loves to watch cartoons like "Tom and Jerry" and Donald Duck.
Similarly, Wawa loves to watch a variety of videos and often tries to get close to the screen, especially when my brother is watching cartoons. Such an adorable cat.
Though these cats make us mad sometimes. These cats bring so much happiness into our lives. Their playful and mischievous makes our day special and happy. As I mentioned earlier, pets are indeed blessings and we should cherish and treat them with love and kindness.
