I've been posting a little more as a result of things stabilizing lately with my ill relative, and borrowing more time from my other projects. It's also gotten easier (and quicker), to write posts the more that I do them. Almost as if when I stop for an extended time, I have to exercise my writing skills in order to get back in good form again.
The other thing is, I've always been the type who pitched in whenever I saw a problem that needed solving. Like a soldier fighting my way forward to plug the breach in our defenses and break through to the enemy.
With a number of creators falling silent whenever the crypto price falls, its up to those of us that are left here on Hive and LeoFinance, to help plug any content holes so that the place "looks busy" to new members and those who may be interested in the token.
I may not have much stake (yet), but I sure as hell have an ownership mindset when it comes to Hive. No one has to tell me to jump in, I see an opening and I take action. I believe that's what separates those of us here to build for the long term, as opposed to those who are here to gain, sell the token, then take the money and run.
We need more of the former and less of the latter.
Who Are You, And "Why Are You Here?"
The movie Wanted starring Angelina Jolie, is one of my favorite films. In an early scene, her character Fox, repeatedly asks Wesley (played by James McAvoy), "Why Are You Here?" as she beats the living snot out of him.
Like Wesley, we've all taken a beating since the founding of our percurser way back in 2016. Some risked a lot in helping to get this place going as a (mostly) censorship-free refuge against the excesses of the legacy platforms.
That's why...
I have such a deep respect for those that I call 'Long-Term Builders' who've weathered the storms of the boom and bust cycles over the years with me. I won't tag them here, but the names would be familiar to you if you've hung around long enough.
They publish great content on a daily basis, and they've truly earned their perch on the trending lists. My mission over time is, if I can't currently equal their upvote totals, I sure as hell have the skills and ability to match their level of quality writing output as time goes on.
Each day as we get closer and closer to realizing our potential as 'The Place To Be' on the blockchain, I hope you'll join me in this worthy and selfless endeavor. Let's show the world what we have to offer and HIVE ON!
