Tuesday was a cold day. We started off at 17F and barely hit 30’s. You can see it’s very dry in here with the stoves going, only 20% humidity. I didn’t have much energy, as I stayed up late talking with my sister on Monday night.
I finished the laundry, made my second batch of kefir cheese, and set up to make another batch of Wild Blueberry-Cranberry Chutney.
The cabinetmaker arrived at 7:30, measured up, and said I’d have a quote in a week. Chances are the work won’t get done until January. But there was a chance, as it was a simple job, it might be done before Christmas.
Once she left, I got the chutney made and started the first of many rests all day.
Yesterday when I was shopping, I picked up a poinsettia, a pink one. I’ve never gotten a pink one before. I had a white one last year and it’s still alive. And the year before it was a red one and that is still alive, though just barely.
Off and on all day, I worked on getting the rest of the decorations up.
These candles came from my uncle’s house when he passed. I remember them from my childhood.
As it started to get dark, I went to turn on the window candles and found 6 deer in the middle pasture.
They spooked when I tried to get photos.
There were 9 in the back 40 on Monday night, right near the barn.
On Wednesday I will have both cleaning helpers and the carpenter’s helper once the carpenter doesn’t need him. We are going to tackle more of the attic until it warms up some. Then we are all going out and try to get the last of the mulching finished. There’s rain/snow threatened for Wednesday night and Thursday.
