On Thursday morning I was up at 5AM and got my post up. I had lots of snow photos so editing took a while. I got a load in the dishwasher then started taking Christmas things out of the storage boxes. I found my angel chimes and they needed polishing this year.
I was supposed to have someone pick up the pumpkins but they never showed or called. Once the chimes were done, I got out a few more Christmas things, but never got them put where they would go. I had finally found all the chime candles last year and put them where I could find them.
I got the cranberry relish set up to make and collected most of the ingredients for the butternut soup. That’s my new favorite this year.
My helper friend arrived at 11:30AM and he prepped for the soup. But we couldn’t start it until he’d done errands. So he headed out to do that and I sat down to rest.
When he got back we got the relish made and the soup started. He vacuumed the downstairs and I went to the attic to get the storage bags for the autumn wreaths. When he finished vacuuming, we brought down the Christmas wreaths and took up the autumn ones.
I can’t remember what all I did on Thursday but I was worn out by 3PM. I’d gotten the soup into freezer jars and in the freezer and cleaned up the mess.
So the wreaths were hung in the office to be worked on sometime Friday.
When my helper friend left at 4:30PM, I made supper and watched a Christmas movie he’d gotten from the library.
Full Cold moon
I made sure both stoves were going really well, turned off the candles, pulled the shades, and headed to bed by 8:15PM. It was to be 4F during the night.
On Friday I hope to get most of the decorations put up, and the boxes at least up on the second floor, if not put away. My helper friend will be here early at 8AM and he has errands to do before helping with boxes, etc. Pumpkins are supposed to be picked up at noon, and I plan to finish decorating in the afternoon.
