Hello Steemit friends. I hope everyone is well today.
I've been growing my own vegetables recently, all from seed and i'd like to give a little update as to how things are growing so far.
My tomato plants i started indoors and i think at first they needed to climitise to the greenhouse conditions bit by bit rather than putting them out straight away.
This is how they are looking at the moment.
As you can see they are starting to become more established now. I need to get rid of the weeds and get some twine ready to help support them with some canes i have placed in each pot ready.
I had a little problem with snails feasting on my baby plants and had to resort in slug pellets which seem to be doing the job.
I have just one lonely potato plant as i dont eat them too often so coming across a spare sprouting spud is a rare occurance in my household 😁
Snowball Turnips.
Some sprouting beetroot.
And some broccoli...
All of these are being grown in some self made planters. I found the wooden frames in work which are handy.
I did have a problem with some cats thinking these planters resembled kitty litter trays but nothing a bit of mesh over the top won't fix! Naughty cats!
I have planted some peas and mangetout but they haven't sprouted as of yet.
Thank you for reading my update on my homesteading. Hopefully next time i will have some flowers and even some little veggies appearing.
Till next time, take care!!
