I'm done creating my "MAJA BLANCA" for tonight new year's eve desert. This is my specialty when it comes to dessert.
I learned doing this from my mother who was also obsessed in making different kind of dessert. I remember when I was starting learning to have my very first self made " maja blanca", I could tell that it was really struggle at first..haha
a lot of trial and error before I could finally done the perfect one. And all the hardship paid off. I'm so happy that I could do it on my own now.
I know that you too could cook this and have your own version of it.. Well... share your recipe in the comment and lets both learned our different way of making it.
Here's how I made my Maja Blanca
- First, prepare all your ingredients;
(coconut milk, corn starch,corn kernel, evaporated & condensed milk,sugar and cheese.) - Put the coconut milk in a pan heated in low flame. Add the condensed and evaporated milk in the pan and stir.
- In a separate bowl put the cornstarch,add your preferred amount of water and stir until cornstarch is already dissolve in the water. Now add sugar and the corn kernel. Stir then set aside.
- Pour slowly while stirring the pan your mixture of water, cornstarch,sugar, and corn kernel into the pan with coconut milk that is heated in low flame.
- Continue to stir until the mixture thickens.
- When it is already thickened, Pour it into serving dishes and let it cool.
- Once firmed, you can now sprinkled it with sliced cheese in a small shape to serve as the toppings of your maja blanca.
- You can also refrigerate it and serve cold for better texture.

Do you know that "maja blanca is originated from spanish speaking country, and which adapted from the traditional holiday dessert called "manjar blanco" which means white delicacy
When the spanish came to the Philippines, the Filipino adapted and learned their dessert and through the years that had passed. The Filipino then made their own version and tweaks of making it. We called it now "Maja Blanca"
