"New Year, New Non-Fungible Token (NFT), New Resolutions!"
The year is approaching fast, I am watching the days pass-by like even faster than when I was working. Crazy! Shouldn't it be the opposite? When you work, days go faster? Can only be, because I am doing lots, enjoying them with family mostly, and doing some of the stuff I can't usually do while working.
Resolutions? Well, this year I have one thing to finish that I haven't yet for a while. Not because isn't easier to setup, but because I want to have the time to test things my way and learn how everything was configured (to the best of my ability). That is a Hive Full node (in this case, the new HAF version of it). And because there are some goodies coming up after the HF28 in February (planned but don't forget these things can be postponed sometimes).
This will be my priority for 2025. I will make it happen this time! I also found I might need another SAS card and possibly another node to separate some stuff or have additional redundancy for my tests.
The extra node will be a smaller thing I want to get with the lowest possible power consumption, in order to have my witness there. That way, I can decide to run minimal infrastructure for a couple of hours alongside anything that needs hive data, for as much time as possible with my large UPS.
Hive Power wise, in 2025, I am not going to get as hungry for Hive as I was in 2024, but I will commit to going above 100k in this account, even if I had already passed that (if counting with my witness

The reason is that I don't know if we are going to explode... in terms of price of course. 😅 But also because more importantly, I want to invest some of the funds I have on keeping my nodes alive, especially if prices go up (if they go down, I will probably come back to buy more stake), better preparing myself for the following crypto years.
I probably will not even need to power down... but that leaves me with less support for buying Hive. For now... obviously, things can change midway. In any way, 2025 looks so DAMN promising! 😍

So, how much impact would this one make? 🤷♂️ Let's imagine one would get 10 of them, then it means an extra 1000 HP delegation on top of whatever you might have with other NFTs and the basic 1000 HP delegation. Recall, that this is only if you win the giveaway (5 max at the writing of this post).
There are only 100 of them, and because I always keep 1, there is a maximum of 9900 HP I need to cover in my own stake to support these. Don't worry, I already have this... 😎
🎲🎮🕹️ How do I feel about Hive games?
Well, in the many years of playing so many of them, I have still NOT found a better place to start playing and having fun with a game than the ones on Hive. At least without having to go into that attitude mode of "taking something for myself before the game blows up"... which I got sick of, by pre 2019's age.
If a game is good and you are having fun, why shouldn't you pay for that effort? Obviously, that payment has to go according to what is provided to continue competitive. But this needs to create a whole entire scheme in order to make people understand they need to play a game because it provides profit... did kill a bit of my motivation when I was on EOS, and then on WAX too...
Don't get me wrong, I like the profit too, and the fact that one can win rewards by playing games. But then say that upfront (and I am talking about non-Hive games)! Don't game the system like many other chains do, in order to hide from the users the entire orchestration is based on something they could only announce to a bunch of rich people that funded the game and will get all the rewards. That's sooo horrible... and when eventually gets discovered, will tear down a game because the users get used to the fact the game is never going to last for a long time.
This is one reason, why I believe games on Hive will get a future. And that future will happen once the platform gets massively adopted. That critical mass and retention need.
It's also about the current very low to almost nothing costs of running things on top of Hive, which when compared with other chains, don't need the large amounts of investments the platforms ask for.
Winners of 2024
For me, in 2024, a couple of games stood out (from the ones I play) in terms of both keeping their momentum (or not lowering them at least to the point of becoming a totally forgotten game). I will order these in some random way to show my appreciation for them and also because they can (or could) already be played, not in terms of profits or FOMO/FUD excellence.
And I will provide some "type" of awards, to explain why I chose them and why:
- Golem Overlord (best consistent development, best anti-scam system and decentralized adoption)
- dCrops (best momentum of keeping existing players and still providing new long-term development)
- CryptoShots (multi-chain asset development and best adrenaline source game)
- Terracore (best fast development and focus on keeping a decentralized open attitude)
- Rise of the Pixels (best AI-driven game)
- RisingStar (for never giving up mostly and still trying to innovate in game development)
- dCity (best long-term game on Hive)
- CryptoCompany and its first "child running" BroBang game collaboration (best collaboration with long-term development potential)

These games made it into my top 10 because I believe they all had important things to prove, show and "make us have lots of fun" time. They all have special reasons for me to support them...
You may (if you didn't you are blind and sorry for that) have noticed that there are 2 games missing... showing as pending. I am still undecided about them, and I have chosen to place-hold them instead. These will be revealed once I have some more time to check what has been done in 2024 (this is not something about 2025).
