You woke up from a deep sleep and decided after eating another food cube to keep walking. The hallway was still long and looked like it never ended. After so many hours you would stop for a short break and sit down for a moment.
Throughout this long walk, you stopped a couple of times to check if communication had been restored with your ship. No such luck. It would have been nice to know how long this hallway went on. While it felt like it could go on forever you knew the station was only so big. Granted it was massive.
What you did not know is you would be walking for almost a week and a half before you reach the end of this extremely long hallway. It became quite clear not even after two days of walking that you were supposed to take the vehicle. That opportunity was however well now past.
The days started to blend. It was quite hard on your body and mind that there was no way to tell day from night. It was always the same lighting and same looking hallway. You marched on and on and on.
Around noon each day according to your wristwatch as you had not worked out any other way to tell time. Time started to feel more like static on a tv channel you could not change. You would take a short break and eat a food cube.
Somewhere midafternoon you would break out into enjoying a half an hour jog down the hallway. You just needed that change of peace every day from just walking. You wish something was different about the hallway but it was all the same.
Around eight at night, you would stop for the night. This would be when you would enjoy a food cube and sleep on the rather cold and hard floor. Some nights it was quite hard to fall asleep and on others, all you had to do was close your eyes. Regardless this all leads back to repeating the same thing, over, and over again.
It did somewhat occur to you after a while that you might run out of food cubes at some point. You felt not eating anything for breakfast was at least an attempt at rationing what remaining food cubes you had left. You just had no idea if that would be doing enough or not.
At one point you thought you were seeing things. It looked like the hallway was coming to an end. You simply refused to believe it as you could have sworn your mind had already played this trick on you a few times before. Reality came crashing down as your face smashed right up against the wall. Giving you almost the slap you needed to come swirling back into reality.
There was a small door and you opened it up into some kind of worship. Without even thinking much of that room despite how interesting it looked you went straight for a set of double doors. It was like you were about to have a panic attack for now being in a hallway.
On the other side, you were greeted by a hallway. However, this one was a bit different than the one you had been traveling down for well over a week. One of the ways forward was taking a left path down the hallway. The other one had a sealed door that was shut blocking the right hallway.
After careful inspecting of the door to the right, it seemed like it was part of the station energy systems to block off areas of the station that became damaged in the attack. The panel on the door to the best of your understanding was indicating that it was double sealed and beyond there was no life support.
You are quite certain you could go through the double-locked doorway that was acting like an airlock and explore the part of the station that lost life support. That would however require using some oxygen in your air takes to do so. Go through the double airlock (this action will use 5 units of oxygen).
You could also if you don’t have enough oxygen to explore that section of the station or wish to not take it. Could head down the left hallway and go explore the station in that direction.
