You headed west. A few steps later you realized the maze opened up to quite a few different directions to go in. It seems like it would become rather easy to get lost and not be able to find your way back to the start of the maze by going forward.

You decided to backtrack heading east as you had skipped over a possible route to go in the maze. It looked like the east path led somewhere. It was perhaps for the best you backtracked after all and will continue going east before checking out the many different paths in the west.
