You press the button to head up to the third and highest floor. Seeing the jagged rock wall blur past you as you rise higher and higher in the mine cart elevator is not an easy feeling to shake off quickly. The elevator cage starts to shake ever so slightly as it slows down to a halt at the top.
The door opened and you unexpectedly walk up into what appears to be an office space. It was quite well-lit as well and burned your eyes the first moment the elevator doors opened.
There were only a couple of desks even up and a single back office. This looked like perhaps the area they worked on invoices and kept track of mining orders. There were lots of electronic paper stacked along with strongly some normal paper writing in English as well.
In one of the normal pieces of paper, it was talking about yields of Golden Paradox 384. It seems to indicate over 100 tons of rock needed to be minded just to get a couple of ounces of Golden Paradox 384.
Another piece of paper you examined seemed to show much better results. They had hit a high-concentration vein and a few kilograms of Golden Paradox 384 at one point. It seems to be quite promising.
One thing you could not quite understand is why everything seemed to be abandoned. You wonder if this mine simply ran out of enough of a high concentration of Golden Paradox 384 or anything else that was worth mining that they simply moved on to another location.
After checking out those desks you went to the back room. It seemed to be mostly empty out. In one of the draws, you did find a purple ID card that you put into your backpack for safekeeping for later. There was nothing else of interest found.
You did double-check the office a couple of times over since it was so small. It was rather strange they chose to set up an office in a mountain. It however seemed to be a better choice than outside in the constant blizzards and possible hail storms.
You walked back over to the elevator to go down to a different floor.
