You tell the ship to head out toward the escape pods. While a lot of the ships in the debris field look beyond repair let alone holding anything useful for you to use to repair your ship. If you could just find one escape pod with all its system fulling working that would be quite the treat.
After a few hours of the ship crawling at what could only have been described as the warp speed of a snail. You manage to close the gap between you and the escape pods enough that you can start to scan them with a very short-range scanner.
There appear to be five escape pods in the cluster. You set the ship to auto-scan all five of them and decided to call it an evening. An extremely detailed scan of this many vessels is expected to take the rest of the evening.
You do set up an alert system with a few perimeters for the ship to wake you up if anything decent is found. You are looking for a mostly undamaged ship that has full life support working and enough fuel to get somewhere.
You head off into the small room you have gotten used to calling home with a bed barely big enough that your feet are almost hanging off the edge of it. You then drift into an unconformable sleep as the ship makes strange noises from micro impacts of debris and other sections of the ship decaying further.
You dream you never left to go on this adventure. That you were not such a coward that your own family died in a storage container from freezing to death. That you focused on family instead of locking yourself away in your office at work.
At one point in this dream, you were having a picnic at the park in the dome. It was daylight and the clearest of days you have ever seen in your life. All your worries had faded away. You were even eating actual food as they show in virtual reality.
Then out of nowhere, terrorists from another government crash land into the dome. Causing all the toxic atmosphere to come flooding into the dome. You are out in the open without any way to protect your family or yourself.
You suddenly wake up. The computer has been announcing for over 10 minutes now that it has found one of the five pods to be in possible working condition matching the perimeters you had set. While it still has not finished scanning all the escape pods yet. You feel rather optimistic about this one.
Do you allow the scan to continue while pouring over what data has been uncovered so far? You could also put on your space suit and go check out the escape pod itself further (this action will cost 5 oxygen units).
