Off in the distance, you can see what might be a cave. Since it is the only thing to explore in this area you move in for a closer look at it. You are just hoping it goes on for quite some time and not a shallow cave not worth your time.
Once you get close enough to the entrance you have to tunnel your way in. There was quite a pileup of snow and ice creating a blockage. You were fortunate to even realize it was a cave in the first place. If nothing else this could provide some shelter for the evening or if you have to deal with further nasty weather.
As you enter inside the light on your wristwatch is turned on. You could see quite a few ice crystals forming like giant spikes hanging from the ceiling. One decently sized seismic activate would send them shattering to the ground like thousands of daggers.
While the entry chamber of the cave was quite large it quickly went down to being such a tight squeeze to get past the rock walls that you had to move sideways to get your wide shoulders and space suit though. You were almost tempted to take off your spacesuit it was however far too cold to do so.
For over an hour, you shuffled through like a crab to get through the cave passage. Meanwhile, your wristwatch was reporting the temperature despite being in a cave was constantly dropping at a steady rate. You don’t quite feel yet that you have found the source of Golden Paradox 384 on this planet you however must be getting closer.
After a while, the passageway in the cave opened up to a wide chamber. You explored around that chamber finding some rather deep pools of water. They however seemed to not be worth exploring. There was only one way to move forward heading further south.
This is when you realized you were walking into some sort of maze. There were lots of tight turns that you could barely fit through. Do you decide to go left or right?
