It was time for quite a dangerous and long walk north. There seemed to be nothing but a massive tundra set before you while looking at a loosely cut path between trees and ice. There would be moments in this journey where you would just be walking without anything guiding you along the path.
After a few hours, the weather was quite bad with some heavy snow falling creating almost blackout moments of vision. Sometimes you could barely see beyond the tip of your notice. It got to a point you had to stop early.
You ended up digging into a snowbank a hole not even worthy of calling an igloo. You just needed a break from the high winds, darkness, and the endless sound of your spacesuit getting pelted with hard snow.
After even more hours, the storm passed. It was still somewhat day outside and you did not want to waste any more of the day so you got out of the makeshift hole you made. You somewhat had to dig yourself out as a lot of snow had fallen on the entry point you made.
Sometimes it felt like you were marching up a small hill while other times you were hoping to not break any bones while sliding down one. This ended up making the journey quite a slow one.
After a few more hours of walking, it was starting to reach nightfall again. While you could see a river ahead of you there was not enough daylight to attempt crossing it today.
You ended up finding another snowbank and this time you put a little more effort into making a makeshift igloo. It was a lot better than the first one you made. While you were chipping away at it putting on some final touches you put a food cube in your suit to help warm it up since it was rock hard.
You barely managed to finish your dinner before just falling over out of exhaustion for the day.
You ended up getting up quite early with just the sun starting to rise. With the hours you lost on the first day, you wanted to make up for it. You set off without even thinking of having anything to eat to start your day with. It would have required a while to heat up in your spacesuit anything.
The river ahead of you was frozen and went on for miles in either direction from the best you could tell. It was a lot clearer today than it had been on this trip. You could see decently far off into the distance. You however could tell there was a lot of walking ahead of you to get out of this tundra.
Crossing the river was quite easy. You had gotten used to walking on ice at this point being on the ice planet for as long as you have been. It’s a shame it’s not going in the same direction you are it would have been a lot easier to walk on than the snow itself.
By midafternoon you had set quite the pace. You could barely make out something far off in the distance. You however decided to take a half an hour's break before heading further north to see what it was.
It was almost like you had not walked far at all. Before you knew it with taking a break still fresh in your memories you had made it to a giant clearing. There seemed to be some interesting stuff around you. You decided to walk a few feet into the clearing to get a better look around.
You ended up in the northern region. After taking a break next to what ended up being an invisible boxed room that came into view as you attempted to sit down for a rest. You decided to survey the landscape with your eyes. You could either investigate the boxed room head west down a trail see off into the distance. Or head back down south through the tundra.
