Ogochukwu: can you tell us your name, where you are from, and how you came to know about Steemit?
Meesterboom: My name is meesterboom ;o) I am from the fine City of Glasgow in Scotland. Where the clear water from the highland springs tastes like FREEDOM!
Ogochukwu: What are your thoughts about the recent post hard fork developments in Steemit and the new Steem Team Led By and @Zurvanic
Meesterboom: I am a cheerleader for Steemit. The last hard fork ultimately worked well although caused a bit of a stooshie the way it was implemented. But look at us now, Steem is mooning and new users are flooding on every day!
I think the marketing is at an early stage but seems in capable hands. However I miss the videos? Guys, where are the videos at?
Ogochukwu: Apart from writing you create comics, how did that journey start and what inspired it?
Meesterboom: I do animations yes. I have always fancied turning a hand to animation. I had looked on Android before but none of the apps seemed really good. Then I saw one called FlipAClip. It has a free version which I tried and was really impressed. I paid for all the extra jazzy features and then did my first proper one. I was really pleased with it and all my SteemFriends seemed to like it so I thought I would carry on.
Ogochukwu: Does writing energise or exhaust you?
Meesterboom: Feckin exhausts me mate. I am knackered now and I have only written about two paragraphs. Fortunately I am half canned on the beer and it is energising me enough to carry on.
Ogochukwu: Do you believe in writers block?
Meesterboom: I believe its a thing yes. Thankfully I have never suffered from it because my head is a constant whirl of mad dribble which sometimes I probably shouldn't write down but, well, I just can't help myself!
Ogochukwu: Do you think that someone could be a artist/writer if they don't feel emotions strongly?
Meesterboom: No I don't. It would show and therefore people would not connect so they wouldn't be any good. They would make a good killer though? An emotionless assassin.
Lurking in the dark,
blade in hand,
dark deeds planned
Stone Cold Killah
Ogochukwu: What other artists/writers are you friends with on Steemit or outside steemit and how do they help you become a better artist/writer?
Meesterboom: I feel a bit embarassed even calling myself a writer. I do write fiction but not as prolifically as some. Then again some of my posts are certainly fictional in many ways. Usually the ones where I boast about my extraordinary penis. Oh hang on, those are the ones I post on Medium...
Anyway, where was I. Oh yes. I know several artist/writers on Steemit.
. All of them are true artists, me? I am a foppish popinjay with ideas above my station.
Ogochukwu: What is the best money you have ever spent as an artist?
The bob fenner that FlipAClip cost me is some of the best benjamins I have ever had the pleasure to burn.
Ogochukwu: What do you think are the most Important magazines for artists to subscribe to?
Meesterboom: I have no idea. Back in the day when I was an enthusiastic amateur Photoshop chap I used to get one called photoshop essentials. It taught me a fair bit. Thats about the only ones I can think of.
Unless of course you mean jazz mags? A little old fashioned in these days os speedy internets but I can certainly understand those being important for when an artist needs to let off some steem.
Ogochukwu: What was an early experience where you learned that language/art has power?
Meesterboom: Oh a tricky one, I could wax long and lyrical about the astonishing power of art to capture the senses or evoke emotions in the dead of heart.
Or I could recount the time where I promised a sweetheart some hot fish yoghurt and she looked at me trustingly like a wide eyed fawn before entering my dank lair of horror.
