Allow me to introduce myself! Isn't that what I'm meant to say when writing these things?

I'm an ex-rugby player with a very keen interest in all sports, so I thought I'd give full-time sports blogging a go. The name Hive account@ruckmesideways is clearly a play on words and is a homage to my former days as a relatively successful egg chaser.

Although my first love is chasing the oval shaped ball, I'll be covering all sports, but being based here in the UK, my main focus will be on leagues and sports "big" here.

Apart from rugby, I follow football and for my sins support the ARSENAL!! I enjoy watching professional darts and have been known to have a flutter on horse racing every now and again.
