Hello Steemians! My name is Rye.
Here’s a photo of me and my dog Brandi.
I’ve been lurking for a while, and I finally convinced myself to write the first post today. I can be quite introverted sometimes, and I am nervous about putting myself out there, especially online. However I am an advocate for cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, and I’ve felt the need to “walk the talk”. I believe in building a better world where everyone has access to opportunities that rewards individuals for his/her creativity, productivity and contributions. I want to see and live in a world where no one is limited from pursuing his/her dreams and interests, and everyone is able to make a living and create success doing what he/she loves.
Steemit is the best evidence of that world, and that’s why I am here! I’ve been trying to tell all my friends and family about the world-changing potential of blockchain technology, the idea of decentralization, and multiple income streams, but often my enthusiasm is met with skepticism and the looks of “Oh, you millennials are so crazy!”.
So, I’m going to show my friends how it’s done :D I have no idea what I am doing, and I am definitely not a writer. However, I am going to try, and hope in a year, I’d look back at this and say this was the best decision I ever made.
When I am not researching crypto or talking to my husband (the handsome dude above <3) about how amazing the future is going to be thanks to technology, I like to lift heavy weights :P
Olympic Weightlifting
Olympic weightlifting has been a passion of mine for the last couple of years. I train under the guidance of two amazing people and coaches, Chad & Jodi Vaughn at Vaughn Weightlifting (http://www.vaughnweightlifting.com), Belton, Texas. Olympic weightlifting (#Oly , for short) deserves many posts on its own and probably a hashtag already, but I just want to briefly say that this sport was my savior when I was dealing with life changes and husband’s deployments in the last couple of years, keeping me sane, healthy and strong both mentally and physically. I will be participating in a couple of amateur competitions this year, and hope to share my experiences with you. Here’s a video of me doing a snatch @ 44kg in the Kilo Cave. I may be tiny, but I'm mighty and strong! :D
So at this point, I should probably talk about how I ended up with
