Hello everyone, I'm Tdragon and this is my first post on the Steemit. I thought I would blog about my biggest passion project this year a new card game I made called "bite me cutie" on Kickstarter and the struggles that came along with learning how to create my first card game. First off a little bit about this card game! "Bite Me Cutie" is a combination of pop-culture, japanese anime, adorable animals, and food! Filled with 100+ cards, Bite Me Cutie contains chibi animals that meet delicious foods only to be fused together to make a collectible “Cutie.” Compete with 2-8 friends for a fun competitive game that’ll make your friends into enemies, and your allies into foes!
The game contains 3 separate decks: the cutie deck, the flavor deck, and the effect deck. The Cutie deck contains kawaii-style cutie cards you collect. The flavor deck contains food bites to feed and collect the cuties you want. The effect deck has trap and buff cards to save your cuties from harm, or keep other players from collecting cuties they want!
There are numerous references to pop-culture icons throughout the card game, ranging from popular heroes like Batman and The Flash, to retro games like Earthworm Jim. My personal favorite is the character “Sweet Jaws” which is a reference to the film “JAWS.”
So here's me, Thien Vuong. I've spent every free moment I've had since the beginning on 2017 to create this game out side of my 9-5. I've had to learn how to go through and make cards on 4 different programs through the process and even build a website for the official card game. (http://bitemecutie.com)
I used Illustrator to turn my sketches into creatures, After Effects to turn those creatures into cards, Photoshop to turn that card into a high res 300dpi export, & adobe design to turn all those high rez cards into a pdf printable card game.
Currently the Kickstarter has been out for about a week. We have a goal of $5,000 that I hope we can reach, we are just about half way there so far. This has been one of the biggest endeavors in my life, and all my heart filled into it. So I figured I'd share this with you guys to. Thank you for reading and if you have any question please feel free to ask below in the comment and I will answer back!
