Kings Canyon, Watarrka, NT is 300 km northwest of Uluru in Australia’s Red Centre. My friends and I drove there the first day we landed in Uluru on 16 Jan 2018. It took about 4 hours. We stayed overnight at the Kings Canyon Resort in a quad shared room with shared bathroom and kitchen. It was a cheap option but not very comfortable. We went to bed early to ensure we had enough energy for the hike we were going to do early next morning.
The Kings Canyon Rim Walk is 6 km and takes 3 to 4 hours to complete depending on how fast you go and how much you stop for photos. It begins with 500 step steep climb which is the most challenging part of the hike but it is well worth it for the views!
This is my favourite hike of all the ones we did on the trip because of the varied geological elements and vegetation you can see along the way. We also saw lizards and birds!
I will let the photos speak for themselves!
