Through the pandemic we have seen a number of companies opt to try and take better care of their employees. Whether that means offering new incentives for raise structures, or pay bonuses altogether, there are a variety of places that have moved to show that thank you to the essential workers that have worked through the lockdown. Millions of dollars in bonuses have been given away and now Whataburger makes one more business that is also looking to do the same.
This is a Texas-based fast food chain that is one of the most popular in the region.
Staying Busy During Texas Winter Storm
When that winter storm hit there were various Whataburger locations, along with other fast food restaurants, that suddenly saw a huge surge in business. There were thousands who didn't have any heat or power at home, they weren't able to cook. They turned to local restaurants too when stores started seeing more empty shelves.
Despite the crazy weather and road conditions many people were still willing to risk it to get to Whataburger and get out for other food options.
At the beginning there were many Whataburger locations that also lost power during the storm, but they quickly got it restored and were ready to serve their communities.
Their employees stepped up, just as many did in hospitals around the country, grocery stores around the world, and many other industries that were deemed essential and had to get people what they needed during lockdown or a storm.
It's nice to see Whataburger making that move to thank their employees in what is probably the most popular method that would be preferred by those getting the reward, which is giving them more money. Nothing says thank you like some unexpected cash in hand.
Not only will they be giving out that cash but they've also given out more, like other increased incentives such as doubling their 401k plan matching for last year.
They join companies around the country, big and small, that have made the move to financially reward hard-workers through the pandemic.
