One of the best ways that some people might want to get out and start their own business is to look into starting a food truck business. It can cost tens of thousands of dollars in some cases, as opposed to much more, perhaps millions, if you were looking at a full on restaurant to establish.
In some areas they've been seeing a rise in food trucks such as Las Vegas. A food truck can be a great way for someone to test out a concept as well before they might want to move on to trying a bigger operation.
There are tons of food truck options out there today, everything from grilled cheese servings, hot dogs, pizza, donuts, and much much more. Some food trucks have been so popular and grown such a following and demand from customers that they've been able to move onto much bigger operations, eventually opening their own restaurant. Just one good review from a social media influencer online can also drastically change things for a food business too, bringing in a lot of new business. We have seen this with a variety of viral stories of one business or another in the food truck space and restaurant space in recent years.
Depending on the location and the food truck offerings some estimates have suggested that these sorts of businesses could bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars if not more. With a wide variety of second hand trucks to find too it makes it more affordable for people to get into the industry from a more cost effective position.
The failure rate might be surprising though, some reports suggest it could be anywhere around 60% of food trucks that fail eventually. For this reason some might find it unreliable to even get started with. The location is going to make a lot of difference, as well as the offerings and price that are going along with it too.
$1 billion market for food trucks
Food trucks have boomed in recent years and there are many to find around the United States today. Already it has grown into a more than $1 billion+ industry. There are tens of thousands of active trucks operating around the country. Some of them are serving food that is so good they have even got their own dedicated following too and social media can play a big role in spreading the word and helping to get the word out about the business.
