We arrived fairly late on a Friday in Newbiggin and wanted a hearty dinner. The local chippy looked inviting. It's obviously been done up in recent years to look modern with video screens showing offers and advertising their app. They have a big choice that includes pizza and kebabs as well as the traditional seafood. You can even get a battered Mars bar, which we tend to think of as a Scottish speciality. I'm not sure what a Smokey is.
I had cod and chips. The fish was very good with a crispy batter. Chips were good too. We shared a portion, but I had enough. Prices seemed comparable with anywhere else.
I'd happily go back there.
