I would agree such as in my post that there are cases were not everyone wins all the time, but in the overall it is a beneficial than otherwise. A free market won't make everyone happy and sometimes bad things will happen that needs to be addressed.
On your point of biofuels, I would say that the problem of the food vs fuel debate had more to do with other factors with energy such as speculation on the commodities, dietary changes, and subsidies of biofuels that many nations give. It would make sense for an entrepreneur to invest and spend more on biofuel than food since they make more money, which diverts resources for making food, which increases food prices.
