Senado Square in Macau
This is one of the best experience I have had as far as travel is concerned, having the opportunity to walk uphill in Senado Square.
We have visited this place on the month of December. Very nice weather and very clean place even though there are thousands of tourists visiting every day. It is like a 10-15 min walk till you reach the top of Senado Square. Here, you will find tons of food, some clothes and gadgets
The amazing experience that I had was how the sellers attract customers. In Macau, it’s difficult to communicate since English is not one of their language. The sellers aggressively let you try to taste their product, ex: jerky, keeps saying ‘changshi’ meaning try, and they are importunate on it.
BUT, suddenly I heard a seller calling me ganda! “Ganda, ganda, changshi!” Ganda in tagalog (filipino native language) means beautiful. I went on the seller, grab the jerky and tasted it. WOW, it tastes so good!
I bought couple of pieces with different flavors and stayed on the same spot for some time. These sellers are equipped! They look at a foreigner’s face, determine the race, and uses 1 positive word to call their attention. It is quite successful based on my experience.
It was really fun and the people there are nice. Macau is only 2 hour ferry ride from Hong Kong so might as well include it if ever you have plans going to HK.
