Tea As It Simmers From The Garden
Just went out to the garden and picked parsley, basil, sage, ginger, 3 fig leaves (this is a tiny young tree, can't spare many leaves), 5 grape leaves (another young plant), oregano, and celery leaves. I often put in a jar of cold water and set in the sun. Today, I will simmer 30 -40 minutes covered with a lid on my outdoor cooker , turn off and let cool. It is important to keep the temperature really low, so as not to loose vitamins from the herbs. Once cool, I will strain and pour into jars for cold tea. Then I will put in the refrigerator.
This is just an idea of what you can do. If you have an herb garden, you can go out and make many different combinations of herbs. When you change the herbs out, you give yourself and your family a variety of healing qualities while sipping a delicious ice tea.
Enjoy!
