HAPPY THURSDAY
We had a new kitchen fitted last Oct/Nov, we have spent the year getting all the faults sorted. Its been one thing after another with the glue coming through the floor, doors on the wrong way or chipped, the sink not fitting correctly, the tap leaking, we have at last got them problems sorted but now the dishwashers not working properly and the cooker has started to leak. I emailed the company I bought all the appliances from expecting them to say nothing we can do as they are just out of warranty but thankfully they didn't, they have sent us a new oven and helping us with the dishwasher, we were very suprised. We emailed them less than a week ago and they have already delivered the new oven. Hubby phoned his brother to come give him a hand to swap the ovens over, it only took them half an hour to fit it. I will be giving the company some positive feedback, they have been incredibly helpful.
Its nice when things turn out in your favour, makes a nice change for things to go your way and getting it sorted within a week whereas getting the kitchen sorted has taken us months.
We have also been trying to find ways of saving money, the prices here in the UK are going up again, we are feeling the pinch but really feel for the people who are having it way tougher than us. I've just changed my tariff on my energy bills, we pay £140 every month for our Gas and Electric, that is gong up again, council tax is so expensive at £155 a month for the council to empty your bins plus a payment for the police, then water rates have shot up to. We are only using the washing machine after 7pm missing the peak hours, we aren't putting the heating on yet just wearing an extra layer or a blanket. Its so sad it's come to this, some have to choose whether to heat there homes or feed themselfs. I'm just glad that our house is paid for and we don't have any debts or we would be in trouble.
We have also had to change the way we shop and cook meals, when hubby was working it wasn't so bad as we had a weekly wage coming in but since hubbys joints have failed that weekly wage has stopped, it's been a year now living off my money and savings. Instead of buying what we want we now buy what we need, we work out each meal e.g so instead of buying ready made pizzas that cost the earth, we now make our own using nan breads with our own toppings, they taste so much better, healthier and cheaper. Now the tempreture is dropping we will start making pans of vegetable soup adding chicken bits for hubby and maybe a dumpling or 2, Vegetable casseroles adding hubbys meat on the side. Me and my daughter are vegetarians but hubby still enjoys his meat. We will make enough to last us all for 2 days means we are cooking a lot less but still eating healthy. One thing this has done is make us realise how much money we wasted, its taught us a good lesson.
Thank you for visiting 💟💟
