Boredom eating causes a lot of weight gain for many of us. Food is just so good! Eating at restaurants, Snacking, Eating at home. It's the greatest thing ever.

Many of us emotional eat on a regular basis. When we celebrate we eat, When we are sad we eat.
Why Do We Get Bored?
You'd think with the endless hours of entertainment that is available these days we'd never get bored. But the reality is, We sometimes still do. Maybe you're sick of the game your playing; Maybe you're tired of watching TV.
So you turn to food to both satisfy taste buds and your boredom.
We get bored when we have an intense need for more mental activity or more excitement.
Our brains are constantly adapting to the world around us. When we do the same thing everyday, Our brains get better at it. We can do things faster, and more efficiently than the day we started. As a result, sometimes repetitive things become old, and our brain gets hardly any excitement from it.
Instead of eating, That's when you should break the routine. And try something new, Go on a hike, Go the library. Do something you haven't done before.
Food Releases Happy Chemicals
When we eat our brain releases serotonin, Which makes us happy. It's similar to when you do something you love, Or when people are on drugs. We crave serotonin when we get it. And food delivers! Which makes us later want to eat again.
While food is necessary for us to have energy and to live, We do not need to spend all day eating! We should eat to live, Not live to eat.
It's easy to reach for food when we want a quick "happy" boost. But this can cause addiction.
Try New Things
We have so many opportunities do try new things these days. But many of us don't. Why?
We may overthink the whole thing. Overthink going out with friends, Or trying a new activity. We are so critical of ourselves these days. By trying new things, you'll get in the habit of having fun rather than eating when you are bored.
