Today I received a parcel in the mail. I was excited, it had a postmark that showed it came from darkest mainland Europe. It obviously wasn't going to be a leaflet offering me a free alarm clock with a life insurance policy, which was a refreshing change.
Oooo, it was addressed to Uncle Baby Boom, a nod to Uncle Boom. I knew then it had to be a gift from a Steemian and considering someone had asked my address recently I had a fair idea who!
I tore open the plastic outer.
The excitement was mounting, what could it be? I had genuinely no idea.
Here we go...
Hot flaming potatoes flying through the skies!! How truly awesome is this? It was a baby vest thing which has the awesome I Love Bitcoin emblazoned on it!! I love it, I can't wait to get the little boom into it!!

This for me highlights one of the most fantastic things about Steemit which seems to be all to easily forgotten by the comment and content spammers who see the platform as a mule to be milked in whatever get-rich-quick way possible.
Steemit is a platform for making connections. For reaching others. Yes, there is the possibility of a monetary reward but if you focus just on that then your endeavours will probably not get you anywhere.
I often get asked in chat, how can I improve my standing on Steemit? - (Well, not so often more because I tend to take the piss out of random spamfarmers.)
But I always say this.
Connect with your peers. Vote on posts, comment on posts. More importantly... Read the posts! Make your comments count. Don't blurb the likes of
