Dead and Almost Dead Stuff Over The Last Few Days. Happy Halloween?
10132020, I was walking while interviewing for a personal assistant gig. As we walk, we notice what appears to be a person facedown and floating lifelessly in a fountain/pond.
It was a parK area. Lots of walkways. We were out early and it didn't look like anyone was around yet. It was possible that e were the first to stumble upon this guy with his face down in the water. Suddenly, a voice from above says with a smile tone, "he's just swimming!" A man was yelling to us from the walkway above.
Phew, false alarm, the floating man gets up, looks at us and the looks back into the water. We continue walking.
I think he was practicing some form of fishing meditation technique. Floating and waiting to grab a fish out of a duck poop pond? That's my guess. We didn't stay too long. Times we very hard for people at this point in the COVID year.
Next day!
10142020, It's early again and i'm on an errand. I leave the store and I see this person...
Dang another prone person?! Wtf? I bust out the camera phone... doesn't look good. Purse is in a bad place. Doesn't look comfortable. I don't think a person would sleep that way. Looks fallen or dropped.

Later, same day! As i'm leaving, and walking down the sidewalk I hear a sneaky noise in the tree next to me. It's a small squirrel sending me off on another errand. It was just cillin' there. Looking at me look at him. I had lots of time to take my phone out and snap some pictures. We can see him/her peeking over a leaf.
See the squirrel in the image above? Cute, not scared, and interested in eating something I might have. That's fun, but I gotta go...
A few hours pass, I go back out for an errand and there is a dead squirrel in the walkway.
Is it the same one? Did my camera steal it's little soul?
Wtf?
Oh, it's not over yet...
NEXT DAY AGAIN!!!?
Driving by, I see this guy is in a weird spot. It's common to see people sleeping on the street, but this guy was in such a weird place...
It's not very early, so I think maybe someone would have found him by now. I don't see stained concrete, Maybe he's just getting a little warmth on his back from the sun. I hope all is well.

A dead opossum now! Just around the corner from the squirrel?!?!
I'm sure it was dead. Fly on the eye. It never moved and all my neighbors are far too lazy to do anything about this sort of thing. Maybe think the guy with the beard should do the dirty shit... whutever... IDGAF I learn, they don't. I forgot what I was taklik...
I started looking around for rat poison, spilled fertilizer, and anything hazardous. I got nothin. All good. Not sure what got him. Two dead creatures in this hood in one week?
Life in the big city I guess.
I'm glad the death and prone pedestrian sightings stopped there. This is just a weird couple of days.
That's enough. It happens. I trust that all is well and as it should be. Everyone stay safe. Notice your neighbors.
