'Manhole Man'

Walking the streets of Bratislava at night can produce interesting encounters. I almost tripped over this guy who crawled out of the manhole to observe the world of light. Well, it is nighttime, so he'll not get much sun anyway. A very cool art idea.

His face is not sad at all, on the contrary. A wide smile and dreamy eyes are not what one would expect to see. A nice touch, indeed!

A top view from the back reveals that the hole is real and offers a more artistic approach to photographing the figure.

After a few minutes, Asian tourists approach and wait for me to finish with patience. Well, firm patience. :D As you can see the brought the entire lighting studio along. Not a bad idea to add some backlight, to be fully honest.

But the manhole man doesn't blink. He doesn't care much what goes on around him. His smirk and inner peace are unshakeable. We could all learn a lot from him.
