Actually, I'm disappointed with Steem-Engine as well for allowing someone to claim an extremely popular tag, what are they going to sell next?
Yes, it is so frustrating that Steem-Engine has allowed the tribes to take over general tags representing large communities, I did not realize this with lifestyle until now that you mention it. I hope that the tribe can change the name of the tag for one of its own creation, there are many options that could be quite attractive.
It is currently happening to us with the #spanish tag
This tag has been used for writing in Spanish since I know steemit. Now this tribe and its new chiefs "those who have power" feel entitled to announce in their posts that YES and NOT to post there, inviting negative votes and flags to the content they do not consider appropriate, when there should be no more rules that the same ones that steemit already has as generally accepted and written in Spanish. Those naive or aspiring to vote for the chief even ask them if their content is adequate or not, it is so so frustrating ..
¿What happens if I don't want my content to be reflected in that tribe?
¿Is it me who has to stop using the tag that identifies the hispanic writing?
We really need to talk about this situation, so that the engine corrects this.
