On the 29th of April this year I decided to stop eating meat and change my diet to a Pescatarian diet, Its now nearly 7 months and I am still not eating meat. I tried to turn Vegetarian a few years ago, When I say a few years I mean a goo 25 years ago. I was at that time working for Holland & Barratt, Its a health shop selling Vitamins, Mineral & Health Foods, one thing they do not sell is meat, its the perfect place to go of you are a Vegetarian/Vegans. I lasted just over a year then ate a Bacon Sandwich. I have never been a big fan over meat I usually stayed with Chicken.
This time has been so much easier this time, the 7 months have flown over without a thought about bacon sandwiches. I don't need to do without as now I can buy Vegetarian Bacon and Sausages, they taste OK, better when there covered in sauce or beans.
There has never been a bigger selection of Vegetarian/Vegan foods, we have a few brands that make Meat free, I have my favourites that I stick with, they cover just about everything I need. U also have a Vegetarian daughter, she has done better than me at sticking with it, she started a Vegetarian diet when she was still in Junior school, she is now 24, that's 15 years. She likes this brand to.
Hubby made us all a fry up using the bacon and sausages, we had fried egg, beans and small hash browns, It was delicious and filling.
Christmas is just around the corner, me and Nichola will have a Quorn Roast with Roast Vegetable, Stuffing, covered with meat free gravy, we will have to cook some meat a hubby, my oldest daughter and her partner are not Vegetarian.
I am proud of myself for making this decision, I have no intention of turning back to meat, Hubby ha even cut meat out but not totally. He has a few days a week eating Vegetarian, that's a big deal for hubby as he enjoys his meat. Little changes, small steps.
I still enjoy eating Fish, not all fish mostly white fish. I would love to try different fish especially Lobster but not that adventurous, me and hubby want to try it but we both don't want to kill it, I want to try a little bit that has already been cooked. I am pleased to see that the UK are possibly going to ban Lobsters being boiled from alive, Its a horrible way of killing a fish and should be banned everywhere.
Its now time to take my 3 pups to bed, I am shattered, I was expecting the cleaners this morning sadly they cancelled due to a few staff having Covid. I have rescheduled them to come the day before I get my new stair carpets down, they can give the floor stairs and skirting boards a good clean saving me a big job.
Anyway, Good night friends.
Thank you for visiting. 💟💟
