If you live in the United States of America as I do, you're probably well aware that President Donald J. Trump has enacted a new law that would automatically register every man between the ages of 18 and 26 years old for selective service. That is, if our Federal government needs to draft young men into the military, the information on where to find eligible young men for that same purpose would be readily available to them.
The problem is that President Trump has been receiving a large amount of backlash for his decision regarding the draft. Below is a video that describes that same backlash.
President Donald J. Trump's Decision To Reinstate Selective Service Has Been Met With Backlash
Now, I don't think what President Trump is doing is a bad idea. The main problem here is the way he is going about it. He could make his decision to impose automatic selective service registration a popular one if he also enacted a provision in that same law that would automatically draft deadbeat teenage fathers. In doing so, he could nip the problem with teenage girls raising babies on their own in the bud here in our country.
If you read my previous article, you'll remember that a group of police officers arrested an 18-year-old young man for having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl after they found them both in the backseat of a car. Many of the people in the comments section to the same video of that incident called the 18-year-old man a creep and a sexual predator. However, I question how these same people would have reacted in that same comments section if the police had caught a 14- or 15-year-old boy doing the same thing instead.
Now, let's take this "what if" story a few steps further and say that the 14- or 15-year-old boy had gotten the 14-year-old girl pregnant and then bailed on her. It would not have surprised me in the least if the very same people in the comments section to that same video who verbally trashed the 18-year-old man who actually had sex with the 14-year-old girl would have made every excuse for a 14-, 15-, or even 16-year-old boy doing the same thing and behaving like a turd after getting the young girl pregnant.
Those same people would be saying, "Why is it always the boy's fault?" They would also stop seeing the 14-year-old girl as a victim but rather as a bad girl who is trying to trap the underage boy with a baby.
I know that some of you are going to say that the example I provide herein is a poor one, because most 14-year- and 15-year-old boys are too young to get their driver's license and would not have a car at that young of an age. Well, there are state jurisdictions in our nation where it is legal for boys that young to drive, so I must stand by my example.
Underage girls in high school and even middle school confront so much pressure from their male classmates to have sex with them that it is unbelievable. It could explain why girls as young as 12 and 13 years old seek out older boyfriends instead of boyfriends their own age.
Teenage boys that are still minors share the raunchiest conversations in boys' locker rooms throughout our nation about the 13- or 14-year-old virgin whose cherry they popped, and they think nothing about the consequences for that same girl in the event that she becomes pregnant. Many of these boys find inventive ways to get out of having to pay child support if these girls decide to keep the babies. Often they will bully and harass these young girls once their pregnancy starts showing.
When an 18-, 19-, or 20-year-old man gets a 14- or 15-year-old girl pregnant unintentionally, at least he will usually have the decency to provide child support for her and will even go as far as marrying her once she becomes legally old enough to be wedded. Yet society and the law here in our grandiose nation will treat such a young man like a criminal, but they will do nothing to punish underage boys who engage in deplorable conduct against these young girls.
I'm not claiming that all 12-, 13-, 14-, and 15-year-old girls are goody-two shoes. However, what I find happening way too often is that underage boys are getting these girls pregnant and then literally ruining their lives afterwards. The outrage of it all is that these punks get to go on with their lives as though nothing has happened, while the underage girls they impregnate get stuck with very tough decisions that no girl should be making on her own when she is still too young to vote.
My solution to this problem is that each and every deadbeat teenage father here in the United States should be drafted into the military on their eighteenth birthday. If President Trump were to include that codicil in his new law regarding automatic selective service registration, the rate of teenage pregnancies would likely plummet here in the so-called land of milk and honey.
All President Trump would have to do is arrange to set up a desk at the Selective Service System that would receive complaints from disgruntled parents of underage pregnant daughters, providing the names and information of teenage boys that impregnated their daughters and abandoned them. Once those boys turned 18, a bus would come and take them off to serve in the military.
If President Trump were to add such a provision in this new law of his regarding automatic registration for selective service, mothers across our nation would go into helicopter-mom mode and do everything to stop their teenage sons from getting any underage girl pregnant. Also, if these punks were treated as priority to be drafted, men between 18 and 26 years old that are either in college or married, with children, or both would fall into the bottom of the selective service pool to be drafted. Therefore, young men that don't deserve to be drafted would be less likely to be drafted.
Some of you may be old enough to remember what happened to Kevin Gillson back in 1997. Yes, he was 18 years old. Yes, his 15-year-old girlfriend was pregnant with his baby. He wanted to step up to the plate as the father of his girlfriend's baby. He was in love with her, but the police and the court system ruined everything for him and his girlfriend merely because both of them were each slightly on opposite sides of the legal age line.
In light of all the crap that these young adult men like Mr. Gillson go through, it somehow doesn't seem right to me that any boy 17 years old or younger should get a free pass to behave any way he wishes with an underage girl he got pregnant merely because he's lucky enough to be on the same side of the legal age line as that girl. Drafting these punks into the military would shed a new light on how shameful it should be for someone to be a deadbeat teenage father.
Now, I realize that somebody is going to come back at me after reading my article and argue with me that once a boy turns 18, he should find a girlfriend that is either the same age as him or older than him. My response back to that so-called argument is that the heart does what it wants rather than what society and the law expect it to do.
If a 15-year-old boy gets a 13- or 14-year-old girl pregnant and then he turns into an absolute piece of crap toward her afterwards, drafting him into the military is the ideal poetic justice that will set him on the straight and narrow. Moreover, if he is drafted into the military on his eighteenth birthday and he gets a commanding officer whose 13-year-old daughter's underage boyfriend knocked her up and then went sour on her, you know that commanding officer is going to make that young man's life miserable 24 hours a day as deserved.
That commanding officer will probably have that same punk peeling potatoes and doing hundreds of push-ups as disciplinary action every time that young man screws up. He may even have him doing latrine detail, which literally stinks to high Heaven. Such a punk will regret ever having messed up an underage girl's life after he finds himself in the middle of a battlefield in which bullets, grenades, bombs, and other deadly objects are flying past him in all directions.
This problem with deadbeat teenage fathers has been going on for decades, and it's time to make these punks face the music for their actions. Parents of sexually promiscuous and sexually abusive teenage boys that are younger than 18 years old seldom ever care what happens to the underage girls their sons gets pregnant. Our laws are stepping in the right direction by forcing them to pay child support to the babies their sons fathered until they come of age, but we have a long way to go before things are right.
If 17-, 16-, 15-, 14-, 13-, and even 12-year-old boys know that they may be getting drafted into the military on their eighteenth birthday if they get an underage girl pregnant and then bail on her and go as far as bullying and abusing her, these boys may think twice about whether they should have unprotected sex with any girl. Their parents will certainly be concerned about them in that regard all the time.
No deadbeat teenage father will be bringing his new girlfriend with him to the maternity ward right after his underage baby mama has given birth in that same event. The smug, cocky attitude of these deadbeat teenage fathers will go away quickly once they realize that they may become property of the U.S. Armed Forces on their eighteenth birthday.
If you read some of my older articles here on this writing platform about Maddie Lambert and all the nonsense she had to go through with her baby daddy, Isaac Frausto, after she became pregnant at the age of 13, you'll realize how deadbeat teenage fathers that are still minors have it way too easy in our society. While our society and our laws wrongfully treat teenaged adult men as sexual predators for even as so much having a non-Platonic interest in adolescent girls, underage boys are getting away with ruining these girls' lives.
It's time that our nation starts drafting these deadbeat teenage fathers on their eighteenth birthday. Their wages in the military could easily be garnished for child support for the babies they father. They could also be obligated to put the names of the underage girls they got pregnant and the babies they fathered on their life insurance policies after they are drafted into the military. It only takes one stroke of President Donald J. Trump's pen to make this notion a reality.
