How to Love one Another
Would you care if you knew your part in a larger scheme of things?
I am always avoiding the news headlines in the quest to stay sane from the insanity we as a human race have created. We seem to be blind to or deriving joy from all the grimy suffering others ensue on our behalf.
But do we even know what is happening? Do we just choose to turn a blind eye?
I don't think the majority are even awake to what all this means for all of us. I am coming from a spiritual perspective that we are all one. In that one body we experience part of our individual selves. It is this individuated self from the facet of all that perceives itself different.
It is then this perception that creates the indifference from what we see others outside self experience. Little do we know that at a certain level, we are also experiencing the same.
"The last camel in line walks as quickly as the first. Whatever happens to the least of us has an effect on all of us." Somali proverb
A good example of this is when the West went east to pursue war agendas. We as normal folk never imagined it would go on for this long or even affect us. Years down the road, up unravelled the whole thing; with the most vulnerable of all in those societies trapped in the agenda. But wait! We don't want to know about the children migrants coming across Europe. How is that our responsibility? I myself despise the level of our blindness!
I work in education in the UK and I have noticed a big change in the English foundation level department. It is full of students of Arabic decent or Africans; a serious case review had to be done in order to restructure the college for this new demand. Of course, there was no shortage of complains as strikes or threats to strike engulfed the college.
A bit late, weren't we? Shouldn't we have stopped Tony Blair from disrupting these people's lives? I can understand the anger, especially when cut backs affect the provision of resources for the natives. But shouldn't we have thought about the consequences of our actions before we went to war. We can blame politicians, but don't we elect them? Isn't it our tax money that is manufacturing the means to kill?
Where is our individual responsibility in all this? How can we join hands with those uprooted from their native lands? If given an option to swap lives, would you? No! Because we all think that we are separate from the problem.
If we are part of the problem, how can we get away from being part of the solution?
To a certain extent, the problem is that history is written from the perspective of the victor, not from a neutral point. Otherwise, we would truly learn from these historical events and not involve ourselves in unnecessary suffering.
World war two didn't only affect Jews; it affected us all at different levels. The hate that reverberated from all the suffering still leaves on. And yet we are at it again, mostly because we think we are doing it to someone else. Not ourselves!
Everything is energy! That is a scientific fact!
I have experienced this first hand at home; if I am stressed, my kids are stressed. Kids are great at tapping into the energy field; letting you know exactly what you are projecting.
Now, from that perspective; in this universal energetic dance, what have we been projecting through separation? Would you look at that immigrant child with compassion knowing that there is a part of you in her/him? What do you see when you look at their suffering?
Until we own it, we are incapable of finding a solution. After all, how can you even begin to think about something you are not responsible for?
There is no such thing as their problem - it is our problem because we are one!
I like to question our way of thinking, for example; we like to wear the cheap clothes manufactured by low paid children workers in impoverished countries and yet we treasure our own children dressed in the same clothes! Let's think about that for a moment! Let us start thinking about one another. For we are one whether we like it or not!
So I encourage you to embody the oneness principle. This doesn’t mean you take on other people’s problems. It means you take on `yours’ more responsibly from a higher perspective.
I hope this article gets you scratching your head in the direction of where you fit in the larger scheme of things.
I love all.
