It seems obvious to me, although its one of the things one must not say, that this whole thing had special interests backing it.
As you say... Indigenous people don't really have a car most of the time, why would they fight so much for the fuel to be cheap.
However, its well known they were getting paid to show up to protest. Now, if you put that into frame, and then you research (easy to do) the fuel contraband that happens in our borders, then the story becomes crystal clear.
I don't like politicians by default, so I'm not defending Noboa and I probably won't. But I agree with you that him showing up would not have helped one bit.
